6 Editing user lists

6.2.1 Computer

Using the right mouse button, click on a computer name in the navigation tree

(e.g. computer name: PC), and you will then have the following function

selection:

New PC This function is used to add in a new PC. You have to provide the information

-computer name

- work group

- comparison type

- description (optional)

The information on Computer name and Work group are particularly important

when you want to activate the corresponding comparison type. When

Comparison type is active, a user list can only be applied to PCs of a matching

type.

Example Computer name: Production

Work group: Plant1

Comparison type: Computer name and work group

Result If the user list for this PC is stored, e.g. on a network, then only this single PC

can access this user list (provided that no other PCs have the same computer

name).

If you do not use the Comparison type option (=> no name comparison), then

the list can be used by several PCs.

The name for your computer (computer name) and the work group

to which it belongs must be obtained from your network

administrator.
